Mobile Home Insurance

As with a traditional stick-built home, you will want to insure your mobile home and it's contents. Mobile home insurance policies cover the home itself, plus most of your personal property within the mobile home. It's a good idea to have your mobile home insured, because most people don't have enough money set aside to deal with unexpected events that could damage your property, such as a fire, windstorms, lightening, etc. Mobile home insurance policies also extend to adjacent structures such as sheds.

Policies include liability coverage to cover accidents as well. In the case of bodily injury or property damage to someone who doesn't live in your mobile home, your policy can pay for medical expenses and other costs due to a covered accidental circumstance.

If you live in a disaster-prone area, your manufactured home insurance policy may include a separate deductible for certain kinds of damage, for example, earthquakes. You may be able to save on your premiums by taking steps to make your mobile home more resistant to natural disasters common to your area. If you are retired, you may qualify for a discount on your insurance policy, so be sure to inquire.

Mobile Home Insurance UK

Mobile homes are becoming a popular choice for many living in the UK, and there are many lenders and insurers serving the needs of these mobile home owners. Adiran Flux is a UK-based mobile home insurance company, as is Cover4Caravans. Both offer online quotes for mobile home insurance in the UK, offering a full range of insurance services.

The UK mobile home insurance situation seems to be slightly different than the situation in the US. I'm a new mobile home owner, so maybe there's something I don't know, but apparently, ownders of manufactured homes in the UK would normally purchase their mobile home insurance (or static holiday home insurance) from the mobile home park owners. Recently, other insurers have stepped in with competitive rates, taking this business away from the park owners. Here in the US, I have not heard of park owners handling the insurance. We also do not have many (if any!) parks dedicated specifically for holiday stays (but I'll save that for another webpage...).
